After its feature on the Porsche 917K in Steve McQueen’s “Le Mans”, Gulf received global awareness and an iconic status in the year 1971. Throughout the movie, American actor Steve McQueen famously wore Gulf-emblazoned racing overalls. He famously piloted an iconic blue and orange Gulf Porsche 917, car number 20.
